My name is Thomas Sherman, student athlete at Captain John L. Chapin High School, El Paso Texas. I started lacrosse in the 6th grade and it just took off from there. I played on a middle school league but was able to play up with the high school team in 8th grade. I am comfortable under pressure and have the ability to shoot, dodge and pass with both hands.
I am currently enrolled in AP English, History, Math and Science courses. I am also a student in Chapin's Project Lead The Way (PLTW) Pre-Engineering Magnet Program. Since October 2022, I have lettered in both academics and in football and wrestling.
I am enrolled at Captain John L. Chapin High School but I play lacrosse at Coronado High School because lacrosse is not yet a Texas UIL sport. It is a club team so I am able to play at one school while still being enrolled in another.
I competed at the 2023 National Lacrosse Tryouts in Lewisville, TX in June 2, 2023.
I attended the Denver University Pioneers Lacrosse Camp, June 26-29, 2023.
I attended the Elite 100 Showcase at Endicott College in July, 2023.
I attended the East Coast Showcase in Vienna Virginia in November, 2023.
I would like to play lacrosse at the next level, beginning in the Fall of 2025. Last spring in El Paso, I had the great opportunity to play in a game with Texas Tech Raiders when they played against the University of Arizona.
In college I plan to pursue a degree in Biomedical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
